MEMA (Automotive Suppliers Association) has appointed Megan Gardner as Executive Director of Marketing and Communications.
In this new role, Gardner will lead all MEMA marketing and communications functions, including strategy and execution for MEMA’s digital platforms, branding, advertising, event marketing and media relations. Prior to MEMA’s recent reorganization, marketing and communications responsibilities were spread across his four divisions at MEMA. Gardner most recently served as Senior Director of Marketing, Memberships and Sponsorships for MEMA’s former aftermarket division.
MEMA President and CEO Bill Long said: “She is very member-focused and has the necessary experience to support our short- and long-term goals.”
Since joining MEMA in January 2019, Gardner has created a strong aftermarket marketing program and improved member outreach. Under her leadership, she has seen significant growth in MEMA’s former aftermarket division membership, event attendance and sponsorships. Over the past six months, Gardner has worked with her MEMA leadership team and other external partners to successfully rebrand MEMA.
“MEMA is an exciting time and I am honored to be working with such a talented and dedicated team,” said Gardner, who leads the seven-member marketing and communications team. “The team supports MEMA and its two membership groups, MEMA Original Equipment Suppliers and MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers, as well as MEMA Government Affairs and MEMA Sustainability Center. I am honored to be able to play a role in promoting that bright future.”
For 2022, aftermarketNews named Gardner in the 2022 “Women at the Wheel” class. This is a tribute to the women who make a difference in the automotive aftermarket. That same year, she earned her 2022 Aftermarket Automotive Professional (AAP) designation from Northwood University.
Gardner holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Villanova University and a Master’s degree in Sports Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Prior to MEMA, Gardner was Director of Client Services at TurnKey Marketing and Vice President of Accounts at 3 Birds Marketing.
