Milwaukee — Residents of the Milwaukee area can ride the Milwaukee County Transit System buses for free on New Year’s Eve.
Fares are free from 8pm until the end of service on December 31, 2022. Some popular routes also offer extended service until 4am. These lines include the Green Line, Blue Line, Purple Line, Gold Line and Routes 14, 18, 19 and 30. .
It’s all part of the decades-old Miller Light Free Ride program by Molson Coors.
Tami Garrison, Director of Community Affairs at Molson Coors, said: “Each year, we are reminded of the positive impact that our Freeride program has generated, and that motivates us to continue expanding the program.”
New Year’s Eve Free Ride in Milwaukee caps off a series of free rides in an annual program of 13 events in nine different cities. Free transit was also offered on St. Patrick’s Day, the Kentucky Derby, the NFL season and the World Series.
Kristina Hoffman, MCTS Director of Marketing and Communications, said: “It’s important to us that people in Milwaukee leave the driving up to her MCTS. Thanks to Miller Lite, thousands of partygoers can ring in the new year safely each year.”
Molson’s Coors started this program in 1988 to help individuals celebrate safely and promote responsible drinking. Since then, he has provided Milwaukee residents with nearly a million rides, and people across the country with her more than eight million rides.
Free rides are also available this New Year’s Eve in Chicago, Denver, Dallas, and Minneapolis-St. Paul and Phoenix.
