Fourteen months after hiring a law firm to provide a safety assessment for the sports program following a lawsuit alleging Hayes culture at a high-profile soccer program, Santa Ana Martell Day completed the assessment Wednesday. Confirmed. However, the school has not suggested that the results be shared publicly, despite a promise by former principal, Father Walter E. Jenkins, to make the findings public.
In a statement provided to The Times on Wednesday, new Mattel Day chairman Michael Brennan said: Tools to promote a safe environment for all students and staff. That’s what we’ve done and will continue to do. ”
After filing a lawsuit against the parent company in November 2021, Jenkins retired at the end of 2021 after consulting with Orange Parish to hire a Sacramento-based law firm. Brennan returned to South Bend, Indiana to replace Jenkins, who had worked with him at Servite, as his new athletic director, Joel Hartmann, plans to replace Bruce Rollinson as football coach. Rawlinson announced his retirement in the playoffs last winter. The school is interviewing candidates and may announce offers by February 1st.
A school spokesperson released the following statement about the evaluation: We use climate assessments, along with WCEA/WASC accreditation reports and other school-wide strategic plans, to enhance the Mater Dei experience for everyone in our school.
