hip hop anniversary partner
To mark the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, urban culture-focused entertainment companies MASS APPEAL and SONY MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT (SME) have formed a partnership with SME R&B and Hip Hop artists to highlight a digital catalog program.
Part of MASS APPEAL’s #HipHop50 initiative. Two years ago, SHOWTIME entered into a multi-year content collaboration with MASS APPEAL leading up to this year’s anniversary.
The collaboration recently (1/25) kicked off a preview event for FOTOGRAFISKA NEW YORK’s new exhibition “HIP HOP: CONSCIOUS, UNCONSCIOUS”. Over 200 photographs of him from 1972 to his 2022 are on display. This exhibit traces 50 years of hip-hop. The exhibit, in collaboration with CHASE MARRIOTT BONVOY Credit Cards, is open to the public through May 21st.
Later this year, MASS APPEAL and SONY MUSIC will launch a new content series called “MADE BY HIP HOP”, highlighting various hip hop themes. A short video focuses on the history of hip-hop and its impact on culture.
