Whiteford pulled within 20–11 at halftime before falling behind by 17 points early in the third quarter. The Bobcats finished his third with his 10-0 run to make him 32-25 and finally in his fourth he tied the game at 40-40.
Audrey Trainor gave Mason 6 points and 7 rebounds, and Baillie Myring showed a strong defense with 7 points. He improved to 3-10 overall for the Eagles.
“Today is a credit to Whiteford,” Sweigert said. “They lived up to every run we put in. They never gave up and kept working hard to get back in the game.”
Emily Rasor led Whiteford (3-7) with 10 points.

Summerfield is back
PETERSBURG — Summerfield had a 10-game winning streak earlier this week, but the Bulldogs bounced back on Friday night with a 42-30 victory over Britton Deerfield.
Despite the win, Summerfield coach Mickey Moody said the efforts were not matched.
“It was a very sloppy game for us and Britton Deerfield beat us,” Moody said.
Mayley Mannebach leads Summerfield with 12 points.
Summerfield also won the Junior Varsity Game 39-23 by 10 points over Blair Olmsted.

Dundee fades away late
DUNDEE – Dundee played one of their strongest games of the season on Friday, but Hillsdale won 44-40 in the second half.
Dundee coach Josh Surrey said: “We finally started playing at the gate and played a great first half. “Sarah Malek went down in the second quarter with an ankle injury and had to miss the rest of the game. I went flat at the start of the third quarter and couldn’t come back.”
Hillsdale led 20-19 at half time and outscored Dundee 14-6 in the third quarter.
Ellie Salembien scored 11 points to lead the Vikings (1-10), while Kaley Imo and Taylor Van added nine each.
“Looking at the big picture, we played a pretty good game,” said Surrey.

Clinton beats Ida
IDA – Ida failed to maintain a hot start in the first quarter as Clinton charged back with the next 3 to win 52-39 on Friday.
Ida led 12-7 early on, but Clinton won 17-7 in the second quarter to take the lead at halftime. In the fourth quarter he scored 16-9 with the Red Wolves shooting from the free-throw line where he went 19-for-20.
“Grace Kapling went down with an injury at the end of the first quarter and it took her a while to regain her focus,” said Ida manager Tim Leonard.
Claire Allen, Jessica Schrader and McKenna Talley each scored eight points to give Ida the lead (8-4).
