Madison, Wisconsin — The Wisconsin capital held its 42nd annual Martin Luther King Jr. memorial service on Monday.
Hundreds of community members came to hear Governor Tony Evers’ speech and watch the live performance.
“The theme of this year’s ceremony, ‘Let Just Rule,’ evokes Dr. King’s vision and dreams for the nation,” Evers said. “We encourage efforts to bridge the social and cultural gaps that divide us while continuing our work towards a more just future for our state.”

One of the performances at the ceremony was by the Brown Sisters. They are a prominent gospel singing group from Chicago. King is someone they said has always inspired them to spread his hopes.
