About roles
Marketing Specialists work closely with Senior Marketing and Development Managers and the Performance Space team to lead the delivery of marketing and communications strategies. Collaborate with Senior Marketing and Development Managers to create year-round marketing and communications strategy for Performance Space’s year-round program and Liveworks Festival of Experimental Art, an annual international presentation platform.
We cover all marketing and communication channels including social media, eDM, PSpace and Liveworks websites, digital marketing, print, radio, signage and ticketing. We work with internal and external partners to deliver multi-channel plans.
Marketing specialists also work closely with senior marketing and development managers to support database maintenance, event planning and on-site execution.
Obligation:

- Work closely with Senior Marketing and Development Managers on creating marketing and communication strategies for Performance Space’s annual program and Liveworks Festival of Experimental Art.
- Leading delivery of marketing and communications strategies across all marketing channels, social media, eDM, PSpace and Liveworks websites, digital marketing, print promotional materials, radio, signage and ticketing to attract new and existing audiences to maintain
- Work closely with Senior Marketing and Development Managers to create engaging digital and print marketing materials to promote Performance Space programs and activities, including:
- concept and content development
- Verification, Copywriting, Editing
- Design and print management
- Distribution and cross-promotion
- Ownership of social media channels to manage strategy and develop campaigns and content.
- Manage the Performance Space website, check for all content updates, and manage the website’s transition to the Liveworks Festival site. This requires using a CMS and requires minimal or no coding.
- Assisting Senior Marketing & Development Managers, Ticket Sales, Volunteers, and Front of House Coordinators in the development and execution of Liveworks’ audience development strategy
- Maintain Performance Space’s online presence through the maintenance of our website, event listings and other digital marketing, as necessary
- Opportunity to manage communications interns
- Collaborate with key external stakeholders, including publicists, digital marketing specialists, the Carriageworks marketing team, designers, staff and volunteers involved in marketing and development projects

- Assisting the Senior Marketing and Development Manager in running the event throughout the year, including guest lists, catering and other logistics
- Help manage the Performance Space database
- Manage staff meeting minutes and book meeting rooms as needed
- Assist the Performance Spaces team with other administrative tasks as needed.
Selection criteria:
A marketing specialist must have:
- Experience in an arts organization or background in the arts
- Experience delivering marketing strategy in a fast-paced environment
- Good organizational and administrative skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email clients, experience with Adobe suites (especially InDesign and Photoshop), working on Mac computers
- excellent attention to detail
- Advanced oral and written communication skills, including copywriting and editing skills
- Experience creating EDMs in Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp, or similar platforms
- Experience using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Tik Tok for marketing purposes
- Proven initiative and ability to resolve workplace issues and prioritize competing demands
Marketing coordinators need:
- Experience with digital marketing channels such as SEM, SEO, display and advertising
- Event delivery experience
- Experience using databases such as Salesforce
- Experience with website CMS
Schedule:
January to July: 3 days a week
August-October: 5 days a week
October festival schedule: 7 days (festival is all day)
November-December: 3 days a week
