Some of America’s most successful business owners were once tagalongs (children) who followed their parents at work and grew up to become entrepreneurs.
Today, thanks to the Explore Entrepreneurship 4-H Club, launched by the Macomb County Michigan State University Extension, young people with a passion for business have the opportunity to learn skills that last a lifetime.
An interactive program for 12-year-olds ages 12-15, aimed at educating and helping aspiring entrepreneurs start their own businesses through fun, hands-on experiential activities .
“When the opportunity doesn’t come, learn how to build your own door,” said Kathy Jamison, one of the Michigan State University Extension educators who teaches the program. She said, “I’m thrilled that her Alysa Diebolt, a 4-H volunteer, entrepreneur, and owner of Brick Town Glass, will share her experience on how to turn your passion into profit.”
Business-related topics covered include:
• Explore the entrepreneur in you
• product or service development;
• All about promotions and marketing
• What to charge the customer
• How the business is financed
The program begins February 15th and runs every Wednesday from 4:30-5:30pm through March 11th at the Recreation Agency of Roseville and East Point (RARE), 18185 Sycamore Avenue, Roseville. It is done.
Pre-registration is required on the RARE website (bit.ly/3XpqlZy). You can also choose a youth and teen enrichment program. Once registered, attendees will receive an email with a schedule and instructions for registering as a free 4-H member.
