With Pitt taking on North Carolina on Friday, a few local recruits will be in the matchup.
Both Meleek Thomas and Amere Brown enter the game.
Thomas is a five-star prospect from Lincoln Park and is ranked the #7 prospect in the nation in his class of 2025. No. 1 point in the nation. Prospects for his guard have received offers from Pitt, Indiana, Missouri and more. , has drawn interest from programs such as Duke and Kansas. On Thursday, Pitt’s head coach, Jeff Capel, was out at CCBC to watch Thomas play in a big WPIAL matchup against the Laurel Highlands at Lincoln Park, dropping 20 points.

Brown is a 5-foot-9 guard from Woodland Hills who got an offer from Bryant. Thomas and Brown recently made an unofficial visit to Penn State and are currently traveling to the pits for the Panthers’ big game against North Carolina.
Pit-committed Carlton Carrington will also be home for the matchup. Carrington has finished his 36-point game this past week and is off to a brilliant start to his senior season.
Philadelphia guard Jalil Betea will also attend the game. Betea is a 2024 class he’s a 6 foot 4 sniper. Pitt extended his offer to August.

Five-star prospect Alier Maluk is also heading to the game, sources confirmed to PSN. Maluk’s visit was first reported by Rivals’ Houston Wilson.
Additionally, WPIAL Basketball Outstanding Player Peter Kramer will be participating. Kramer is his 6-foot-4 guard who plays for the Hamptons. Associate head coach Tim O’Toole invited him to watch the game.
