BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (WBRC) – One community parenting app that helps connect families and sitters expands statewide to provide more solutions for parents.
Wyndy, an app that started in Birmingham as a way for families to connect directly with professional vetted babysitters, has seen a growing need for more flexible childcare after the pandemic, leaders say.
CEO Missy Polhemus said there is a high need for sitters and child care. That’s why the Wyndy app is expanding to Huntsville and mobile to reach more parents.
The app conducts background checks on all babysitters and offers different types of care, Polhemus said. She said that after her user research, her parents knew they needed a more flexible type of childcare rather than traditional day care.
“Today, more and more parents are working from home,” says Polhemus. “They’re looking for sitters who can come to their homes and look after their kids while they’re upstairs or running to meetings—a flexibility that brick-and-mortar childcare facilities don’t have.”
The app is already working in Huntsville and mobile, so sign on today to find a childcare near you.
Polhemus said it is looking for professional sitters to hire in all areas of service. Please click here to apply.
