TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Chiefs are in the AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium for the fifth straight year. With that comes more excited fans and local bar business.
NFL Sunday is always good for business with Topeka’s Jerimiah Bullfrogs. But this Sunday, as they have for the past four years, employees expect more than a Chiefs win.
“If the Chiefs are doing well, it’s very good for bars and bar sales,” said Bullfrogs employee Lloyd Bias. “And it brings in a lot of revenue, not just for us, but for other bars around Topeka.”
A big game comes with preparation. The Bullfrogs staff plan ahead to make sure they have everything they need to give their customers the best game day experience.
“We tend to hoard supplies and staff just to make sure our customers get the good experience they want,” says Bias. “It’s like you’re in the game”
Chiefs fan Bernie Rusk is also excited about the game, though not at Arrowhead.
“Oh, I’m really excited,” said Lusk. I think it’s more advanced to [Bengals] Give them another try. They’re going to win by at least a touchdown I’m sure. They started strong and will come back as usual at the end and make it even harder for the Bengals to win anything.”
Kickoff for the Chiefs-Bengals game is Sunday at 5:30 p.m. And like most bars, you can expect red waves at Bullfrogs.
