CHARLOTTE — Buffalo Bills safety Dumar Hamlin is recovering from a cardiac arrest on the field four days ago during Monday Night Football.
According to his agent, Hamlin is breathing on his own and can speak.
A local company has decided to support a cause that is important to Hamlin.
Carl Fochler, a lifelong Bills fan and co-owner of the Sheetz Laundry Club, donated $25,003 to Chasing M’s Foundation Community Toy Drive, a fundraiser started by Hamlin.
Fundraisers support toy drives, back-to-school drives, children’s camps, and more.
Fochler added $3 to the first $25,000 of Hamlin’s number, which is 3.
Fokler is on the board of charities and knows his donations are money well spent.
“This year was a recession and many children missed Christmas. It’s something we can’t deal with,” Fokler said.
Over $8 million has been donated to Go-Fund-Me.
