Overland Park, Can. — The Livestock Marketing Association (LMA) is pleased to announce the release of its new scholarship program. Aimed at investing in the next generation, the program offers a $2,500 grant to individuals who have an interest in, or demonstrate knowledge of, the importance of the agricultural industry and its advocacy groups and have plans to leverage their careers. LMA President Mark Barnett said: “We are always looking for ways to involve the younger generation and believe this is a step in the right direction.”
Applicants must be high school graduates and/or currently enrolled at an accredited postsecondary institution and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher. A letter of recommendation from an active her LMA member must accompany the application at the time of submission. An LMA member may not endorse more than two of her LMA Scholarship applicants in the same academic year.
Applications will be accepted until 4:00 pm on March 31, 2023. After the deadline, scholarship applications will be reviewed by a panel of LMA Leadership, LMA Membership and Related Industry Relations.
