Watching the Chargers blow another meaningful game is like watching the movie Groundhog Day. Same old charger. Again, snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Brandon Staley doesn’t realize that one of the head coach’s most important jobs is to respond to game conditions by making adjustments on the field. How else can you explain the fact that opponents regularly and dramatically outplay the Chargers in the second half when he completely misses the full picture of his flow in the game and his Spending each game focusing only on calling doesn’t help.

Staley needs to go. He inexplicably plays the starter in games that don’t make sense he three quarters. He loses Mike Williams in the process. He lost many receivers during his game in the playoffs and Justin Herbert found himself short on targets. Face it, some coaches are meant to be coordinators rather than head coaches.

Brandon Staley was the only reason the Chargers didn’t make it to the playoffs last year, his stupid play calling. Brandon Staley is the only reason Mike Williams didn’t play Jacksonville. The Chargers were in no serious threat with a one-point loss. He should be fired immediately. They cannot continue to succeed because of their coach.

The Chargers lost another game, largely due to another questionable call by Coach Staley. With minutes left in the first half, the Chargers had the ball on third down and inches to go. The obvious call was Herbert Sneak (almost 100% success rate). A first down would have almost guaranteed Jacksonville not getting the ball back, considering there was so little time left. At worst, the Chargers enter his locker room with him leading 27-0. Nevertheless, Staley decided to call it “daring” risky play. The play has gone south, brought Jacksonville to life, and the rest is history.

I knew the Chargers coach was/should be fired after Saturday’s loss to the Jaguars, but I didn’t expect it to be an offensive coordinator. I was thinking more along the lines of (lack of defense) defensive coordinator and/or head coach. The offense didn’t give up his 31 points and the defense gave up.
