The Bruins dominated most of Sunday’s game in Seattle, but took things to the next level in the second half.
The No. 11 UCLA Men’s Basketball (13-2, 4-0 Pac-12) beat Washington (9-6, 1-3) 74-49, completing a rare conference road sweep in the process . The Bruins held the lead for his final 35 minutes of the contest by just 70 seconds.
Freshman center Adem Bona had a career night, scoring 18 points on 8-for-10 shooting and making three blocks in just 26 minutes of action. Guard/forward Jaime Jaquez Jr. added 17 points, point guard Tiger Campbell finished with 15 points and 11 assists, and guard David Singleton dropped 14 points with two 3-pointers. .
However, it was a very tough night for UCLA as seven other Bruins contributed only 10 points. Guard Jalen Clark led with 11 rebounds and three steals, but was just 9-for-1 with two points from the field.
Both teams shot particularly efficiently to start the game, with UCLA shooting 41.7% in the first half compared to Washington’s 34.5% mark. Despite the fact that the Bruins never reached the line before the half, a barrage of triples from Singleton and Campbell created a separation for the Bruins to head into the break.
Bona set the tone with a few slams out of the locker room and UCLA’s lead never fell below double digits after that. The former McDonald’s All-American closed out the game with a one-man 6-0 run in the final minutes. Mac Etienne then entered the game, and his only point on the bench in the second half for the Bruins was a second half layup. .

Of UCLA’s 29 field goals on the night, 20 were assisted, beating Washington 28-14 in the final 15 minutes.
On the other side of the ball, the Bruins put the ball up in the second half as well. The Huskies scored just 22 points after the break, shooting 34.6 percent from the field and 9.1 percent from second deep.
Center Braxton Mee managed to put up some serious numbers and end the night with 20 points, but he was the only Husky to have multiple shots in the second half in a 6-for-6.
Washington narrowly went 2-for-25 over the arc and continued to jack up 3-pointers in an attempt to close the gap. They never did, and the Bruins escaped with a 25-point victory as a result.
UCLA will play USC on Thursday. The rivalry will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Pauley Pavilion and air on ESPN.
