Kettering University has appointed Jennifer Amberger as its new Vice President of Marketing and Communications (VPMC), effective February 1st.
With over 20 years of marketing and communications experience, Umberger came to Kettering from Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania (formerly Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania), where he served as Vice President of Marketing and Communications and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer. served. In that role, she oversaw executive her communications, admissions marketing, college marketing and brand management, strategic communications and media relations, sports communications and marketing. She has also been a strategic lead in partnership with the Pennsylvania Higher Education System.

Under Umberger’s leadership, Commonwealth’s electronic and print marketing materials have won multiple CUPPIE Awards from College & University Public Relations and Associated Professionals (CUPRAP), a regional association of communications professionals in colleges, universities and private schools. bottom. Umberger’s experience also includes marketing and communications in the commercial real estate sector.
As the University’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Umberger will lead the development and implementation of Kettering University’s marketing and communications strategy to promote the University, increase its visibility and support Kettering’s mission, vision and pillars of success. To do. She also oversees all marketing, advertising, and communications efforts designed to attract the best students, motivate alumni and donors, and recruit quality faculty and staff.

Umberger holds a BA in History from Albion College with an emphasis on Mass Communication and Public Relations and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Augsburg.
She is a member of the American Marketing Association and serves on the board and co-chairs of CUPRAP’s Meetings and Programming Committee. She has presented at conferences and other conferences on marketing, public relations and philanthropy. Umberger is also a member of the National Housing Corporation Board of Alpha Xi Delta Women’s Fraternity.
