Juicy Fest 2023: 12,000-15,000 Expected at R&B, Hip-Hop Festival at Mount Maunganui

Tomorrow, Juicy Fest 2023, which debuts in Tauranga, is expected to draw 15,000 attendees, with most of the R&B and hip-hop artists coming to Tauranga for the first time.

Juicy Fest promoter Glenn Meikle said ticket sales had been strong from the start, so he decided to move the festival from its original location at Whalepay Domain to its current “bigger” location at Trustpower Bay Park to meet demand. He said he had to move to another location.

According to Meikle, when planning for the 2023 Juicy Fest began, organizers wanted to bring the big names in R&B and hip-hop to multiple centers in New Zealand and Australia.

“We know people are vacationing at this time of year and Tauranga is a popular vacation spot during the summer months.

“Touring the festival in multiple centers makes it easier for more people to participate, even if they are already away from home. Tauranga is a wonderful place with so much to see and do. We want to introduce the city as widely as possible.

“By including Tauranga in our tours, along with all our other centers, we hope to expose these cities and New Zealand to the world and boost tourism and the economy.”

On the day of the event, access to the stadium will be pedestrian and bus only.

There is a controlled pedestrian crossing at the intersection of State Route 2 with State Route 29a.

No access to Truman Rd outside the venue will be permitted on the day of the event.
