Poonch: JKEDI, Poonch and SKC in collaboration with GDC Department of Sericulture, Poonch Campus, Jammu University GDC Poonch Saturday held a one-day awareness program on entrepreneurship, innovation and startups.
Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Director Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (IAS) was the main guest of the occasion.
Speaking on this occasion, JKEDI’s Ajaz Ahmad Bhat will be launching short courses on the topic of entrepreneurship at various J&K schools and colleges.
In the long term, undergraduate and postgraduate programs will also be offered. This step will help create a strong entrepreneurial culture at J&K.
He also visited a JKEDI-sponsored business unit in the Poonch district.
“Successful business people, whether they are under the auspices of JKEDI or under other government schemes, can be role models for young people. Such initiatives should be encouraged. , exchange programs with successful entrepreneurs should be organized for the benefit of students and aspiring entrepreneurs.”

The director also informed attendees that the government is revising the J&K startup policy guidelines to make them more startup-friendly. This will boost his UT startup his ecosystem and help J&K innovators and aspiring entrepreneurs.
The Director of JKEDI also interacted with faculty at campuses and degree-granting colleges to ensure that these institutions work together to come up with ways to launch short-term courses.

Dr. Mehraj Ud Din Bhat (Incharge Training Kashmir) and Senior Faculty Member of JKEDI gave an overview of how to start a new business and highlighted aspects of startup policy. Hundreds of aspiring entrepreneurs and students attended the event.
Vishal Ray (Incharge CIIBM) enumerates the benefits of JKEDI’s term loan scheme under the National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC) and how this government initiative is creating self-employment among minority communities. said he did.
In the coming days, the Institute will publish an overview of various entrepreneurship and self-employment related schemes.
