The Minnesota Timberwolves led for most of the night, but Nikola Jokic’s triple-double gave the Denver Nuggets a 122-118 victory late Wednesday night.
The Wolves frustrated Jokic early on, as he picked up three fouls and hit an elbow to Naz Reed before potentially committing a fourth foul had it not been for the overturned call. In the end, the Nuggets star found his rhythm and led the way with 31 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists.
The Timberwolves have been at a disadvantage against Jokic as Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert remain out through injury. Read did his best to score 17 points after starting at center.
Minnesota also had a solid night from Luca Garza, who came off the bench and scored 16 points.

Despite a balanced output with seven Timberwolves scoring in double figures, the Nuggets saw D’Angelo Russell’s 3-pointer give Minnesota a 118-113 lead with 2 left in the fourth quarter: was 51.
