Drake welcomed the entire dip set to the Apollo stage while rocking to match Cam’s legendary pink coat.
Despite suffering an ankle injury, Drake was determined to put on a memorable show in Harlem. On the first day of his two-day show (January 21-22) at the Apollo, Drake brought along some special guests.
Many celebrities were in attendance, including Ice Spice (who was seen vibrating for Drake on the gram), Kevin Durant, and Odell Beckham Jr., who witnessed the Harlem hometown “team” take the stage. A stage transformed into the block of 585 Malcolm X BLVD that once housed the legendary ‘Harlem Up Deli Market’.
Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Jewels Santana, and Freaky Jeeky took to the stage, and Drake paid homage to Cam’ron’s famous pink fur coat and hat. “We didn’t just create something new. This is the real deal,” said Drake.
Drake also provided props for the legendary group before rocking the stage. You let me rap differently. So please, make some noise for my New York pride, Dipset,” said Drake. I kept playing “We Fly High (Ballin’).”
After the show, Jim Jones took to Instagram to show his appreciation for Drake. “Let me put my cup down lol I just want to say thank you for tonight #dipset #ovo @champagnepapi u did tht.” was given.
But Drizzy isn’t finished yet. As he took the stage to close out the show, Drake made another familiar hip-hop face. Next up was her 21 Savage, where the duo performed songs from her 2022 album Her Loss. “Rich Flex”, “Privileged Rappers”, “Spin Bout You” and others were performed.
Drake returns tonight (Sunday, January 22nd) for the second day of the Apollo performances.
