“This is a very busy street and a very popular entertainment area for Jasper, so it was quite a shock,” said Regan Inman, a Jasper local.
The building suffered some external damage. Drummond said he was grateful it didn’t get worse.
“No one was hurt, no one was here, no one was on the sidewalk. and me, and a lot of nights where some of my employees are sitting on that couch and that chair, and someone could get killed really easily,” Drummond said.
The store opened in 2020 when the pandemic started. Despite the odds being stacked against her and this hiccup, Drummond says the spa continues to thrive thanks to the community.
“The support we have received has helped us form our own community and reach out to people from Birmingham and other areas around us as well. The fact that everyone cares is really big for us,” said Drummond.
Drummond is awaiting estimates from contractors to determine how long the full repair will take.
