The site of a former nursing home at 1915 Mattis Avenue, South Carolina, could become the site of a new multifamily residence.
The Building Safety Department of Champaign is the 1915, 1917, 1919 and 1921 S. Mattis Ave.
According to the city, there are three stories in total, two of which have 19 units and two of which have 24 units.
The nursing home that used to be there was the Champaign Rehabilitation Center and before that was Helia Health Care of Champaign.
The former nursing home was purchased by Champaign-based Fair Lawn Capital for $610,000 a year ago, according to Champaign County records.
No further information was available from Fairlawn about plans for the apartment development.

Champaign-Urbana’s VitalSkin Dermatology will host an open house focused on cosmetic services on Wednesdays from 5-7pm at the Urbana Practice, 1111 West Kenyon Road.
The open house will feature information on cosmetic services available with promotions and discounts, and local artists will showcase some of their work. Light refreshments are provided.
According to Dr. Jeremy Youse, who heads the local clinic, among the beauty services offered are Juvederm, Botox, microneedles, medical grade facials, chemical peels, laser resurfacing and premium grade skin care products.

Jackie Sampson wanted to launch a festival in a corner of downtown Champaign and wanted to involve other businesses.
That’s where she came up with the first Pineapple Fest at the Esquire Lounge.
Pineapple Fest at Esquire on January 21 offers all-day pineapple food and drink specials, including pineapple margaritas, mocktails and pineapple beer from Blind Pig Brewery. Esquire co-owner Sampson says the first 200 guests will be served locally made pineapple snacks and artwork and crafts by local artists.

Willow Tree Missions, Monticello will soon pick up their very own truck courtesy of Rick Riding Auto Group, Monticello and the Community Foundation of East Central Illinois.
Jill Maxey, executive director of Willow Tree Missions, said her organization needed a truck to move donated goods from one of the two thrift stores to the other.
With a $7,500 grant from the East Central Illinois Community Foundation, Rick Ridings Auto Group found a good used truck for $15,000 and donated the difference, Maxey said.
Willow Tree Missions is a non-profit Christian organization dedicated to ending domestic violence in Piatt County.
Note to Landlords
The Champaign County Real Estate Association will hold a public seminar on the rights and responsibilities of landlords and tenants on February 7 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at its headquarters at 305 Barwash Street, Savoy.
According to association president PJ Trautman, among the topics panelists will cover are new state laws, including a new “source of income” class protected under state human rights law.
