The Intercollegiate Tennis Association is now seeking experienced and motivated individuals with a passion and knowledge of college tennis.
This is an exciting and crucial time for college tennis and the ITA in the rapidly changing world of higher education and intercollegiate athletics.
ITA Hall of Fame (HOF) Manager Responsibilities to include:
- Served as manager of the ITA Women’s Hall of Fame website and is working on its integration with the ITA Men’s Hall of Fame
- Curate your content and drive web traffic to your WHOF website
- Create and edit the story and history of women’s college tennis in various modes (e.g. video interviews, oral history interviews, article writing, photos, etc.).
- Maintain current ITA brand guidelines
- Activities to protect and preserve the history of college tennis
- Create content to share in the ITA newsletter
- Maintaining and developing social media channels (Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook)
- Create Content with a Consistent Rhythm
- Increase followers and engagement
- Helps educate current student-athletes about sports history
- Develop a promotional campaign for the biannual WHOF ceremonies
- Work closely with WHOF committees and former members to share and develop content
- We also provide logistical and promotional support for the ITA WHOF’s biannual induction ceremonies at the University of William and Mary.
- On-site ITA liaison at semi-annual entrance ceremonies
- Act as ITA contact for questions related to ITA WHOF and work closely with William & Mary University and the Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce to ensure the growth of ITA WHOF
- Curate your content and drive web traffic to your WHOF website
ITA Marketing & Communications Coordinator Responsibilities to include:
- Assist the ITA Senior Digital Manager in writing press releases and writing potential research and feature articles.
- Act as a marketing and communications liaison at a select number of ITA events and championships
- Share stories and results of ITA events and championships on the ITA website, ITA social media channels and national media
- Manage your ITA Photo Library of ITA Events and Championships with SmugMug
- Assist in the planning and execution of video content for the ITA website and social media channels
- Assist in the marketing and promotion of ITA, including but not limited to the ITA Championship
- Develop and update key media lists for all ITA Championships
- Build relationships with local media and tennis stakeholders to increase excitement and participation in the ITA Championship
- Help develop a community engagement strategy for the National ITA Championship
- Assist in the development of community impact assessments after the National ITA Championships to showcase the benefits of hosting the ITA Championships in current and future venues
- Maintain inventory of ITA signage and assist in the shipping process to ITA events
- Provide additional support for team-based initiatives as directed
Qualifications and Desired Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree—preferably a bachelor’s degree in a communications-related field. Writing and storytelling experience preferred.
- A deep appreciation and understanding of the sport of tennis.interest in history
- Excellent communication skills and organizational skills
- Experience managing various social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Experience working with websites (preferably WordPress, WIX, SquareSpace, etc.)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop) applications
- Familiarity with Google applications, Trello, and Slack
- Minimum of 2 years sports management experience, preferably in the sport of tennis
- Applicants must have an attention to detail, the ability and dedication to complete assigned projects, the ability to work in high-pressure situations, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
Additional Information:
- Salary commensurate with the ITA title, level and experience of the hired individual.
- This position reports directly to the ITA Director of Communications and External Engagements.
- Positions require limited travel throughout the year for championships and events.
- ITA is headquartered in Tempe, Arizona. Remote work is possible.
