San Francisco — Technology company Island turned to Big Valley Marketing to handle its communications business.
Island, which makes enterprise browsers, adopted BVM following its relationship with Matter. Her CMO, Ellen Roeckl, praised her for launching the company and securing the investment.
According to Roeckl, BVM’s mandate is focused on driving adoption of Island’s product by communicating its “simplicity and potential without being overwhelming.” Focused on business needs, Island’s browser includes security, productivity and automation features not found in consumer browsers.
“We really feel like we’re in a situation where we have to change the game,” she said.
Launched in 2020, Island is the brainchild of former Symantec and McAfee executives Michael Fey and Dan Amiga, who also worked at Symantec after Symantec acquired its previous venture, Fireglass.
The company, which is valued at $1.3 billion, raised $175 million in its Series B funding round last year.
