Two Empire entrepreneurs have been recognized as Top 75 Young Indian Graduates in an award marking India’s 75th year of independence.
Hosted by the National Union of Indian Students and Alumni Association UK, the India-British Achievers Honors Award honors 75 Indian students who “achieve excellence in their respective fields and inspire and encourage many others to dream and achieve” Or celebrate the achievements of an alumni.

Entrepreneur Karmanya Singh Sareen is a partner at Kommit Techno-Legal LLP, an intellectual property consulting firm in Delhi, India. The company was recently awarded the Best Emerging Intellectual Property Consultancy in India by APAC Insider. He is a board member of the British Kabaddi Union and promotes Kabaddi in the UK. He is a data privacy enthusiast and the lead complainant in major lawsuits that consider privacy rights as fundamental rights in the light of digital privacy.

The laureates spent the morning at a breakfast reception held at the British Parliament, which was also attended by Professor Sankalp Chaturvedi of Imperial College Business School. Associate Dean of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion and Co-Director of the Gandhi Center for Inclusive Innovation. Professor Chaturvedi was a member of the judging panel for the prestigious award.

The university currently has 700 Indian students and a community of over 3,000 alumni in India.

Over the past five years, Imperial scholars have co-authored over 1,200 research publications with over 300 Indian institution partners.
Research partners include Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Christian Medical Institute, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, Baba Atomic Research Center and Tata Institute for Basic Research.
In 2022, Imperial formalized its long-standing relationship with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISc) through a joint research and education seed fund. Co-funded projects focus on areas such as quantum physics, water management and air pollution.
Imperial has also partnered with the George Institute for Global Health India to establish the £10m NIHR Global Health Center for Non-Communicable Diseases and Environmental Change. The center will be inaugurated in November 2022 and is based in Delhi.
Last year, Imperial hosted a dialogue with former High Commissioner Gaitri Isar Kumar on UK-India science and innovation partnerships.
