Milwaukee — Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers celebrated his second term in office with the Inaugural Kids Gala in Milwaukee and Madison.
Chris Walton took his niece Charm to the Kid’s Gala at Fiserv Forum.
“We’re going to do some face painting soon,” Walton said.
As the former Democratic chairman of Milwaukee County, Walton was very proud of Evers’ re-election. His niece had her face painted, but he said he hoped state politicians would cooperate in the interest of the children.
“I hope the legislature will work with him. ‘ said Walton.
Evers said he is thrilled to be the first governor of Wisconsin to host a kids’ gala. He believes it’s best for the state’s future if they focus on the youth.
To achieve this, Evers pledged to introduce a strong budget to public schools.
“We don’t have to put school districts on referendums. 80% of them win, 20% lose. Then, frankly, our system is completely skewed,” Evers said. I’m here. “We need to provide more resources. Again, I think that’s something that can be essentially bipartisan.”
The vision of providing more funding to public schools also ties in with Walton’s desire to welcome a niece in 2023.
“Hopefully we will do great things in school and have a great chance to grow in the city of Milwaukee,” he said.
