Ben Jacobs has confirmed that Liverpool are interested in signing Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo this summer.
The Ecuadorian starlet is strongly linked with a move to 10th-ranked Chelsea in January this year after years of interest from former manager Graham Potter, but Liverpool remain in a ‘conversation’ at the age of 21.
A journalist told GiveMeSport: “If Caicedo remains at Brighton after the January window, Liverpool cannot be ruled out entirely, as they were big fans of him when he was at IDV before he joined Brighton. But with multiple agents claiming to represent a player and dealing with a lot of hidden fees, side fees, agent fees, etc., it was a nasty deal and Liverpool didn’t make a move at the time.
“But their historic interest, player development since then and Liverpool’s need for a midfielder mean they might be the talk of the summer.”
Brighton have only signed the midfielder for £4million from Independiente del Valle for 2021, but the initial cost is expected to be nearly 20x.

But he seems pretty destined for a move to Stamford Bridge, with new owners Todd Vorley willing to make a splash with any player they see. It seems that.
Caicedo would be a perfect addition to work in Liverpool’s midfield. If the Blues are out, Jürgen Klopp will definitely jump in.
