WISCONSIN — With freezing temperatures cooling down in Wisconsin, it’s a good time to rethink how to stay safe outdoors.
A system of winter storms is expected to move across the state through early Saturday morning, bringing snow, high winds and frigid temperatures across the state.
“flat [a few] For some people, spending a few minutes outside can be too long,” says Dr. Andy Foster of SSM Health about winter weather.
Foster, an emergency physician and director of the emergency department at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, stressed being overprepared.
“It’s important to have more layers than you probably need,” he explained. “A little movement certainly helps, but when it’s that cold there’s not much you can do other than bundle up to protect yourself.”
