LOUIVILLE, Kentucky – Louisville’s men’s basketball program suffered yet another heavy loss in ACC play.

Team notes:
- UofL used a starting lineup of El Ellis, Mike James, Jerin Withers, Kamari Lands and Sidney Curry in their first game of the season. This lineup is 0-1 this season.
- A crucial first-half run: The Cardinals traded points with the Panthers for the first five minutes of the game, nearly a three-minute tied game. A Louisville 7-0 run spanning 3:16 gave him a 14-10 lead on the card.
- The Panthers led 29-16 after a 19-2 run that lasted four and a half minutes. The run was led by his three 3-pointers by Nike Sibande.
- Key second-half run: With 15:15 left, Louisville cut the lead to seven on a three-point play from El Ellis.
- The Panthers scored 5 of 7 field goals with 9:03 left in the game to extend their lead to 59-45.
- UofL shot 19 of 56 (.339) from the field, 5 of 20 (.250) from three-point range, and 11 of 13 (.846) from the free-throw line.
- The Cardinals outscored the Panthers 24-20 in the paints, outscoring them in the sixth paint of the season.
- Louisville shot 84.6% from the free-throw line, marking the fifth game of the season with 80% or more shooting from the charity stripes.
- The Cardinals had 11 offensive rebounds, the ninth time they had double-digit offensive rebounds this season.
- Louisville rebounded the Panthers 34-33. It was the sixth time this season that the Cardinals had topped the rebounds, and his fourth time in five games that the UofL had more rebounds than their opponents in rebounding (11-7).

Player notes:
- El Ellis
- The seniors scored 19 points, marking their 11th consecutive game of double-digit scoring and their 17th of 19 games this season. Ellis had a team-leading five assists and two rebounds in 38 minutes.
- The guard scored at least one steal in nine straight games and shot 5-of-5 from the free-throw line.
- JJ trainer
- Junior scored a career-high 14 points, reaching double figures for the second time this season. Six of his nine field goals were career-highs for field goals made and field goals attempted, and he shot 60% or more from the field for the fourth time this season.
- The forward recorded a total of 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal in 30 minutes of play.
- Jerin Withers
- The redshirt juniors scored eight points and had a team-high seven rebounds.
- The forward scored a steal in 26 minutes of action.
- sydney curry
- The senior totaled 4 points and 4 rebounds in 23 minutes of action.
- Mike James
- The redshirt freshman tallied 5 points and had 4 rebounds.
- The guard made 2 of 2 shots from the free throw line and played 35 minutes.
