WISCONSIN — The We Energies crew traveled to California to restore light to those who lost power after a deadly storm, but they never thought they would be the light themselves.
About 50 workers from We Energies and its sister company, Wisconsin Public Service, were on a trip to restore power in central California. They finished their work early, got hundreds of thousands of people back into service, and on their way home to Wisconsin, tragedy struck before their eyes.

Ross was part of a convoy of five trucks when the car flew through the air. He and his team quickly stopped at US-99 near Livingston to help a woman in danger.
“The SUV landed sideways in a puddle,” recalls Ross. “Fortunately, we had easy access to the ladder and were able to get the driver onto the muddy embankment. there is.”
The crew got the driver out of the car, put him in a truck and carried him to safety. All were proficient in first aid and safety training, according to We Energies.
They planned to stay with the driver until paramedics arrived when another accident ensued.
Two cars lost control on the highway and hit and crashed into a We Energies bucket truck. A We Energies truck was stationary and overturned when multiple vehicles collided.
Crew members tended to those in the vehicle and provided medical assistance until paramedics and other first responders arrived on the scene.
“We went to California to help. Of course, we didn’t expect to be able to help in this way, but we’re happy to be in the right place at the right time,” Loth said. said.
The We Energies team aims to bring back the heroes who will save lives.
