GREEN BAY, Wisconsin — Packers general manager Brian Gutkunst is smart enough to say publicly that it allows for flexibility.
Still, it was hard to walk away from Friday’s season-ending press conference with any emotion other than that the Packers had no plans to tear up the roster.
Aaron Rodgers is the headliner. While Gutenst said he respects the quarterback’s need for time and space, he reiterated the big promise the Packers made to him last year. Gutkunst cited injuries to Rodgers and the offensive line, as well as the youth of the receiving legion, as reasons for the Packers’ inconsistent offense.

Maybe he was just keeping his options open, but Gutekunst sounded like someone trying to add to what’s here instead of completely rebuilding it. Let’s just say that if your expectations are different, you may be disappointed.
