Gunna is no longer in prison.
In a shocking development Wednesday, the YSL Records artist pleaded guilty to one count in his RICO lawsuit.according to billboard, Gunna was able to take Alford’s plea and formally plead guilty while maintaining his innocence. As a result, the 29-year-old artist was released from prison Wednesday afternoon.
As per the terms of his release, Gunna was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment and one year’s imprisonment. Fox 5 AtlantaHowever, his time was reportedly reduced to working hours and 500 hours of community service. All in all, it looks like a win for Gunna, but understandably some fans became skeptical of his release.
“When I joined YSL in 2016, I didn’t think of it as a ‘gang’. Metro with shared interests and artistic aspirations, she’s like a group of Atlanta people,” Gunna said in a statement. “My her YSL focus was entertainment. Black is a rap artist who wrote and performed music that exaggerated and ‘beautified’ urban life in her community. ”
He continued: We are opposed to any party to the litigation and have no intention of participating in the court process in any way. ”
Rappers and music industry professionals celebrate Gunna’s release on social media.
Following all the tragedy that hit the Southern capital this year, the hip-hop community prayed for Atlanta. No doubt some of those prayers have been answered. Gunna’s release from prison is the first triumph for the Atlanta rap scene in a long time. As a result, several hip-hop artists and industry professionals took to her social media outlets to happily react to the news about Gunna.
