Through the India-US Alliance for Women’s Economic Empowerment, both India and the United States are committed to connecting the private sector and civil society to support the growth of women’s businesses.
US SOS Blinken launched the US Strategy on Global Women’s Economic Security on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, according to reports. During the launch, Blinken added that the Biden administration in the United States will also work towards promoting female entrepreneurship.
To do that, Brinken said the administration would address key challenges that keep women away, such as lack of mentorship and training opportunities for women to grow.
“We are committed to initiatives like the India-U.S. Alliance for Women’s Economic Empowerment that bring together the private sector and civil society to provide women in India with technical skills and networking opportunities to help them grow their businesses. and is working to replicate it as needed. At the launch of the alliance, Google India pledged to mentor 1 million Indian women entrepreneurs. We’re increasing that number over time, and it’s going to have a big impact,” said Anthony Blinken.
The alliance was also launched to help the world recover economically from the COVID-19 pandemic. “To really lead an inclusive recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, we need women’s full economic participation. As we know, conflict resolution requires women’s leadership. We need women’s ideas and innovation to tackle it,” Brinken added.
The United States said it would actively work to improve the economic competitiveness of women so that they have room to participate and lead as CEOs, boards and others in all sectors and industries.
