The pandemic, wildfires and landslides have upended everyone’s expectations. And then there are the chronic challenges of rising costs of living and employee retention.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic began in early 2020, local partners including the City, Glenwood Springs Chamber Resorts Association, Downtown Development Authority, Visit Glenwood, Post Independent, Colorado Workforce Center and local businesses have worked together and Glenwood Springs. These partners have developed and implemented creative solutions such as Glenwood Gold, local grants and al fresco dining.
Great efforts have been made through mutual cooperation during difficult times, including the closure of Glenwood Canyon. , marketing strategies, and community advocates. Today, this partnership has evolved into a formal organization known as Prosper Glenwood.
Prosper Glenwood is dedicated to increasing the economic sustainability and vitality of Glenwood Springs through community partnerships. Our goal is to focus on the most pressing needs for businesses, including employee shortages, housing, climate change, machine learning, inflation, and I-70 closures. A more important focus is to provide companies with the right resources to overcome these challenges.
To keep up the momentum, Prosper Glenwood engaged businesses in August 2022 through one-on-one conversations with local business owners and managers. He collected feedback to better understand how to address today’s business challenges, needs, and gaps.
One discovery was the need for more communication with our business community. This column is the first step in closing the communication gap. Prosper Glenwood will be writing a monthly “Help Desk” column that will provide information from all of Prosper Glenwood’s partners that address his business needs today. Specifically, this column contains helpful information such as new and existing local, regional, and statewide resources and policy changes. We also share success stories from local businesses.
In the meantime, visit Prosper Glenwood’s website at bit.ly/ProsperGlenwood., or additional information about this group, how to join, and available resources. Most importantly, please contact us. We are here to support you!
