Valdosta, GA (WALB) – The Peach State is a magnet for entrepreneurs, and many have set foot in the Valdosta area.
Georgia ranks among the best states to start a business. That’s according to Area Development Magazine.
The Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce said it knows why Georgia ranks so high and doesn’t expect that to change anytime soon.
“We are thrilled that Georgia has been ranked the best state to start a business for the ninth year in a row. It was no coincidence. We also know that the way we provide a great quality of life is by having a great job,” said Valdosta Lowndes, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce. Christy Moore said.
In November 2022, the grand opening of Downtown Social, a new destination for all ages in Downtown Valdosta.
Owner Tiffany Bentley said it was exactly what downtown needed.
“We wanted to go somewhere to have a drink and enjoy the atmosphere, but we didn’t really have a place to go. So we decided to bring it to Valdosta in Lowndes County. Enjoy your dinner, and I know Bistro, 306, El Paso enjoys that dinner, but then come over here and hang out with us,” Bentley said.
Owners of Xenquility Therapeutic Massage Parlor started business in September 2022. Chryon Martin said she’s not shocked that Georgia has been ranked the best state for her ninth year in a row, given all the businesses and customers she has.
“When I first stepped into the faith, I didn’t know it would flourish like it does now. I’ve been doing this for eight years. I am looking forward to the future work of Xenquility Therapeutic Massage Parlor,” said Martin.
The Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce, the seventh largest chamber of commerce in Georgia, welcomes companies looking to join the team.
People sometimes jump out and act boldly without knowing what will happen.
Businesses in the Valdosta area say their business has grown beyond their dreams. Part of that success is due to the Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce.
“We did really well. December was a blast. The Chamber of Commerce was great for us. It’s about the community, it’s about seeing that community come back through the door and enjoy it,” Bentley said.
For the ninth year in a row, Georgia has been the best state to start a business, according to Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce officials, as the business grows each year.
“From a growth perspective, we are very fortunate in Valdosta, we are seeing exponential growth. And that’s why we exist,” Moore said.
Martin said community supporters helped spread her presence downtown.
“Word of mouth, great. They’ve supported me. It’s flourished and it’s grown. It’s still growing. I really appreciate it. I’m very passionate about what I do.” Here at Xenquility, serving our community is our passion, our priority and our purpose – to serve our clients,” said Martin.
With over 200 volunteers, the Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce has contributed to the growth of 20 major committees and programs.
