Gateway helps graduate in business and she helps the community as a result

I got married right after high school and had a child right away. For a while, Betzabe’s “super-busy” mom life replaced her student life.

But that all changes when her children grow up and her family starts one business and buys another. And Betzabe’s educational goals will have a positive impact on not only her.

The Betsabe family started a construction company and needed someone to keep the books. It became her responsibility.

“Training at Gateway has helped our business,” says Betzabe. “There was some administrative work that had to be done, but I wanted to do it in-house. I didn’t have to hire an outside company to do it. It really helped me run the

Additionally, Gateway trained her on tax preparation while the kids were in school from January through April, and began a schedule of staying home with the kids in the summer. Eventually, the owner of the business where she worked as a tax accountant wanted her to retire and contacted Betsabeh about purchasing her business.

“We saw this as a good opportunity and a good business move,” says Betzabe.

Gateway Education helped her confidently take over the business and develop plans to expand it. It also helped me grow.”

The acquisition of its tax preparation business also had a doubling impact, according to Betsaveh.

“My vocation is to serve my community,” were the words of Betsabe’s spiritual leader, who encouraged her to pursue a degree and help her community.

“Most of my clients are Hispanic and many of them don’t know where to start when starting their own business. It helped a few companies, I was able to help them, and it’s thanks to Gateway that I was able to do it.”

Betsabe said the instructor knows the industry and is happy to help educate her wherever possible. These were her two reasons why she liked her Gateway.

“They were always willing to help, listen and show understanding,” said Betzaveh. “When you have kids, things happen that are out of your control, but the instructors are more than happy to help.

“My kids were my priority. With Gateway, it took a little longer than I originally thought, but I was able to take care of them and take classes when I could so I could get my degree. I was able to receive it.”
