Southern rapper Gangsta Boo, former member of hip-hop group Three 6 Mafia, has died. She was 43 years old.
Lola “Gangsta Boo” Mitchell was found dead in her hometown of Memphis, Tennessee on Sunday. Her cause of death has not been announced.

The rapper started his career at the age of 14 when he was spotted by DJ Paul, a founding member of Three 6 Mafia. By the age of 15, she joined a rap collective that included famous members DJ Paul, Juicy J, Crunch Her Black, and Lord Her Infamous.
Gangsta Boo quickly gained notoriety for his hip-shooting, rapid-fire rap flow on Three 6 Mafia’s 1995 debut album, Mystic Stylez, and has become a cult classic. In addition, she appeared on five group albums, including ‘Chapter 2: World Domination’ and ‘When the Smoke Clears: Sixty 6, Sixty 1’ which set her platinum sales.
In 1998, she branched out with her debut solo album, Enquiring Minds. The album was highlighted by “Where Dem Dollas At” featuring Juicy J and her DJ Paul.
After Three 6 Mafia released Choices: The Album in 2001, she left the group to focus on her solo career. She released her sophomore album ‘Both Worlds (asterisk) 69’ which reached her number 29 on the Billboard 200 chart. She released her third album, Enquiring Minds II: The Soap Opera, in 2003.
Over the course of his career, Gangsta Boo has collaborated with popular artists such as OutKast, Eminem, Gucci Mane, Lil Jon, E-40 and TI. This year, he appeared in Rat’s “FTCU”, which Glorilla also participated in.
Last month, Gangsta Boo said she was on the verge of releasing her fourth studio album, The BooPrint, this year. .
