Innovate UK, the UK innovation agency, announced today that four of this year’s Young Innovator Award winners are from Wales. The winners kicked off the new year with a boost after receiving the coveted award for their new business project.

- Anahita Laverack, 22, is an avid sailor from Caernarfon’s Victoria Docks who created Oshen, a fully autonomous robotic vessel similar to a mini-yacht, that collects live data from the ocean, from wind to temperature, waves and currents. The Young Innovator Award recognizes young people with great business ideas and the potential to become successful entrepreneurs and future innovation leaders. In addition to the awards, Innovate UK conducts workshops and briefing events, providing practical business advice to her network of over 12,500 young people across the UK.
