Since the first death was recorded in March 2020, the COVID-19 virus has killed more than 1.1 million Americans. That number includes more than 21,000 Alabama.

By late last night, reading Facebook and Twitter would have convinced you that world-class athletes are dropping like flies from vaccine-related heart disease. (probably the most cardiovascularly taxing sporting event in the world), forgetting how the NBA season has gone months without a single heartfelt death. Related issues in-game.
And remember, athletes, like everyone else, have suffered deaths from cardiovascular events long before COVID and COVID vaccines. According to all the stats I can find online (and these are not readily available nor necessarily reliable stats), college and professional athlete mortality in 2021-22 will be: No higher than any year in the last decade.
One thing we can say for sure is that COVID infection, especially in severe cases, can and has been proven to cause long-term damage to the heart. You might expect a reasonable person to find this as a reason to get vaccinated, but it takes reason and common sense.
And if there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that nothing makes sense anymore.
During the 2022 midterm elections, in states like Alabama, one of the main attacks against some Republicans, especially in the primaries, was their support for COVID mitigation efforts such as mask mandates and school closures. That was it. seriously. They weren’t voting for people trying desperately to protect themselves.
And all the while pretending that mitigation efforts have proven to be overreacting. That I shouldn’t have worn a mask. The school should not have closed. That occupancy limits should not have been set. Because it all blew up.
Oddly enough, I seem to recall that there were more than 3,000 deaths per day in America for a period of time. Basically, at some point he had his week on 9/11. Hospitals were kicking out sick people because they were out of bed. There were stories of people with treatable illnesses dying because there were no rooms in hospitals.
And now… some people act like learning loss and mask orders are from the library and Dr. Fauci… an evil conspiracy to hell, I don’t even know what the conspiracy should have been. Hmm.
It’s time for many to grow up and embrace nuances, exceptions, best efforts, and more. Because those simple concepts explain all the insane conspiracies.
