FAMU provides advanced race equality training programs for black entrepreneurs on campus and in the community.
A three-year partnership between Concept Creative Group and Blackstone Launchpad will increase racial equity in FAMU’s entrepreneurial environment through the creation of “Building Black Dynasties.”
Starting January 25, 2023, the Building Black Dynasties training course will be available every Wednesday from 6-7pm. The first training sessions will take place on his FAMU campus and online. Subsequent sessions migrate virtually.
Many FAMU students who are currently entrepreneurs or interested, especially those at the FAMU School of Business and Industry, are excited about the new program.
Senior management student Nia Smith believes the program will strengthen her skills to become a better manager.
“I’m graduating this semester and I’ve been able to go through this and know it’s been very beneficial,” Smith said. “This is definitely a great idea, and participating can provide a lot of resources for students.”
Entrepreneurship trained individuals acquire the confidence, knowledge and ability to seize economic potential. It teaches students how to recognize opportunities, commercialize ideas, manage resources, and launch businesses.
Criminal justice scholar Jayla McKenzie explains how to join an entrepreneurial training program.
“I’m new to the game because I’m actually a future entrepreneur,” says Mackenzie. “I didn’t know where to start, but I think attending the workshop will give me a better understanding of where to really start. I am very grateful and will take this into consideration.” ”
Diamond White, a FAMU student, wants to take the initiative to start and help manage her own hair business in the next two weeks as a full-time student.
“Participating in this new program gives us the opportunity to hone our organizational skills,” says White. “This will reveal new ways to improve my future hair business.”
The program aims to help black students develop an entrepreneurial spirit by developing the competencies needed to start and run strong companies. Many opportunities emerge from training to develop successful black entrepreneurs from Florida A&M University.
