Entrepreneurs in the Shenandoah Valley can now access additional resources to start and grow their business with the online Valley Business Compass at valleybusinesscompass.com.
Launched by the Shenandoah Community Capital Fund, this resource connects business leaders looking for jobs, funding, mentorship, or professional services.
The Valley Business platform was developed through the US Economic Development Agency’s Build to Scale Award.
The system’s roots go back to 2012, when the Shenandoah Valley Innovation Coalition began helping entrepreneurs. Valley Business Compass replaces the original resource website founded in 2015.
“We would like to recognize and thank all those who have worked diligently over the past decade to build the local ecosystem. Without that initial effort, we would not be where we are today. There was no sign,” said Mary Lou Bourne, director of innovation and economic development at James Madison University.
SCCF encourages entrepreneurs, mentors, resource and service providers to create their own profile on the website.
Users can also view curated lists of resource providers, news updates, and events happening in the Valley.
This site is a free resource for current and prospective business owners in the Shenandoah Valley area.
If your organization needs help with the platform, please contact Nick Koger, SCCF’s Community Outreach. [email protected]
