Once home to Chase Bank in Radcliffe, the building has new owners and a new purpose.
According to founder Pamela Nance Pittman, it is now owned by MOD — Misters and Mistresses of Distinction — Squad. Including the drive-thru there is over 17,000 square feet of space.
With more than 10 rooms on the first and first floors, she said there is still space for entrepreneurs to rent in the building that opened as North Hardin Bank some 40 years ago.
Food trucks can also be set up outside the building for free. Another building on the premises serves as her one-stop shop for a woman to get a haircut and style, receive a personal session with her stylist, and get a massage. .
She said the goal is to eliminate overhead and make it easier for budding businesses.
“We’re a nonprofit, so we’re not going to charge rent,” she said.
From painters and landscapers to stylists, companies have already booked rooms.
Nance-Pittman said the organization obtained the keys to the building at 500 W. Lincoln Trail Blvd. He was scheduled to hold a grand opening celebration today in December. Due to some logistical concerns, that celebration has been postponed until March 17th.
But work is underway to make the building suitable for their needs, starting with painting and deciding what to put where.

“This is where we come and talk to God and fight battles,” said Nance Pittman.
The building’s history as a bank also provides a unique way for Nance-Pittman to help nonprofits pay their mortgages. They plan to rent a safe deposit box. Small ones start at $40 a month, with discounts if the renter wants to pay his full year upfront.
“What’s out there is between you, God, and the country,” said Nance Pittman.
She said they no longer have the same rules as banks, so anything other than illegal substances and ammunition can be stored in boxes.
According to Nance-Pittman, the nonprofit went through multiple locations before finally arriving at the previous bank, which at times didn’t make sense, but was simply following God’s plan.
“You have to go through a struggle before you can receive a blessing,” she said.
