Entrepreneurs in the tourism sector want one-stop services for tourists, such as e-Visas and visas on arrival, to attract foreign tourists.
The speaker made the request at the 4th meeting of the Standing Committee on Tourism Development (Inbound, Outbound, Domestic and Civil Aviation) of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) held today at FBCCI in the capital.
FBCCI Chairman Md Jashim Uddin, speaking as a guest of honor, said Bangladesh’s tourism industry is of great importance and has great potential.
“A few days ago, HSBC predicted that Bangladesh will become the ninth largest consumer market in the world by 2030. The economy is growing and the quality of life is improving. It’s more important now,” he said.
Jassim added that the prime minister attaches particular importance to the tourism sector. As part of that, he said various infrastructure developments were underway in Cox’s Bazar, the press release said.
He said the opening of Padma Bridge has brought a new window to the tourism industry. After the opening of Padma Bridge, the number of tourists in the south and southwest of the country has increased significantly.
The FBCCI chairman also said that the FBCCI will focus on the country’s potential sectors at the upcoming Bangladesh Business Summit to be held in March this year to mark the 50th anniversary of the FBCCI, with tourism being one of them. Stated.
Jassim commented that the FBCCI will always support all positive initiatives in the development of the tourism sector.
FBCCI Vice President Amin Herary said it not only attracts foreigners to Bangladesh’s tourism sector, but is also a big market for the country’s large population.
The participation of all governments and private sectors involved in tourism (including associations) is essential to ensure discipline and coordination in this potential sector.
Coordinating the discussion, MGR Nasir Majumder of the Standing Committee for Tourism Development (Inbound, Outbound, Domestic, and Civil Aviation) said tourism has always been one of the priority areas for the Prime Minister.
FBCCI Director Syed Moazzam Hossain, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism Sanjida Sharmeen, Co-Chairs and all members of the Standing Committee were also present at the meeting.
