The final African squad for the 28th World Men’s Handball Championship will be looking to reach the semi-finals on Wednesday (25 January) at 20:30 CET.
Egypt have kept a clean sheet since the start of the tournament, which opened on 11 January.
Pharaoh won 4 of their 5 matches in the group stage. They lost only to defending champions Denmark.
This year’s World Men’s Handball Championship will be held in Sweden and Poland.
The Egyptian is looking to reach the semi-finals for the first time since finishing fourth in France in 2001.
African handball powerhouse
At the 27th World Men’s Handball Championship hosted by the North African country, Pharaoh finished at the semi-final door.
In consolation, the Egyptians made history by beating Germany at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics to reach the first-ever Olympic semi-finals.
They became the first African team to achieve the feat and the first non-European team in 30 years.
Other quarters scheduled for Wednesday (January 25th) show:
Denmark will play Hungary at 18:00 CET. Norway vs Spain. France will play Germany.
The final will be held in Stockholm on Sunday 29th January.
