EGS Aneda Builders and K&L Marketing defeated their respective opponents in Sunday night’s semi-finals to set up a championship showdown at the Chooks-to-Go Sinulog Cup 2023.
The finals will begin at 5:00 pm after the third place game.
K&L Marketing defeated the DH25-RUS team 82-78 while EGS defeated UNBL 71-69.
K&L relied on the in-game talents of two timid veterans, Patrick Kabaf and Will McCalloney, to overtake the team of PBA legend and Cebu City Councilman Dondon Hontiveros.
Kabaf was spiked with five 3-pointers to score 23 points, while McCaroni scored 21 points and a double-double on 14 boards. Harold Cortés and Fletcher Galvez also scored his 11th each, helping K&L to a thrilling win.
LaSalle guard Ice Blanco and former Sesafi MVP Shaquille Imperial each scored 15 points to lead DH25-RUS.
In the other semi-final match, EGS scored several clutch shots from National University guard John Galinert and University of the Visayas standout Ted Saga to defeat Bacolod City’s veteran-laden UNBL team.
As the game ended in the fourth, Galinert hit a left-handed layup and Saga canned a booming trifecta from the right wing to help give EGS the separation they needed to take the win.
Galinat was the EGS’s top scorer with 19 points, while Saga scored 17 points on five 3-point makes and had 11 boards. Justin Dakaros He had 12 points, 6 assists and 4 rebounds.
