A Dell Technologies study ranked Dublin 23rd out of 55 cities in the world for its ability to attract and develop female entrepreneurs.
The 2023 Women Entrepreneur Cities Index ranks cities around the world based on their ability to attract high-potential female entrepreneurs who want to do more, scale faster and thrive. .
London and New York topped the list, followed by the Bay Area, Paris and Stockholm.
The 55 cities surveyed were ranked on five characteristics: capital, technology, talent, culture and market.
Dublin has moved up 11 places from 34th in 2017.
It also excels on the list of most advanced cities for women entrepreneurs in the tech sector, ranking 7th.
The study specifically highlights the city’s advantages in accessing a qualified and diverse workforce and its central role as a leading global hub for cybersecurity.
Meanwhile, Dublin ranked 8th out of 55 cities for gender equality in leadership in tech and 12th for access to female mentors and role models.
But access to capital is the missing piece in the ecosystem for many women to expand their businesses in Dublin, according to today’s report.
