ORiAN (Orian Green) will perform at The Cabana on February 4th before heading to America.
ORiAN is a local producer and hip-hop artist.
The 23-year-old will host a release party to celebrate his debut EP on February 4th at The Cabana in Napier.
Also, up-and-coming DJs, rappers, singers, and bands line up.
Linda Hall asked him some questions before the gig.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Born in New Zealand and raised in Texas, I break the ice with atmospheric instrumentals and introspective lyrics. My music career started from humble beginnings when I started developing beatmaking at the age of 14. Since then, he has continued to tell the story behind his music through raw lyricism, providing his audience with honest and transparent storytelling.
Why did you choose hip hop?
Looking back on my early inspirations, I realize that this style of music is largely due to my personal growth and understanding of the world. In that sense, I like to think that hip-hop has chosen me, and I am grateful for the opportunity to carry on the legacy I picked up.

When did you realize you had what it takes to make an EP?
I had been planning to release this EP for a long time, but my perfectionist tendencies kept it out of the public eye for years.The moment I felt people needed to hear this was when I finished this song understand correctly Since then I have art nouveauis a 7-track EP that tells your own story of overthinking.
Who has helped you the most in your musical journey?
I met Jamal in Los Angeles, California when I was 14. We kicked it off and spent the day exchanging details and continuing our separate lives.After years of silence, I ended up traveling to his LA in 2022 and Jamaal and he booked my first US gig. Since that opportunity, my music career has grown exponentially and I was fortunate enough to consult with LA’s best. I hope to return the favor someday.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to make their first EP?
Emotion without action is the ruin of the soul.
What can hip-hop fans expect at a release party?
This is the last release before moving overseas!
Fans can expect a packed lineup of dedicated local musicians looking to go home for more. Get ready to meet.
What are your dreams and plans for 2023?

In 2023, my dream is my plan.
