Over the past few weeks, 21 students in Davis County’s CEO program have been busy planning an “Evening with Young Entrepreneurs,” a fundraising dinner and silent auction.
“This year, our event will be held at the Antioch Bible Church on February 16th. “Wittmer Catering, the audience will have the chance to attend a game night with the CEO.”
Doors for the event will open at 6:00 p.m., and the festivities will begin at 6:30, Robinson said.
“We serve fried chicken, barbecued pulled pork, mashed potatoes, salads and rolls,” she said.
Several local businesses have donated items for the silent auction, and donations are still being accepted.
“We’re still accepting donations,” Branson said, adding St. Louis Cardinals tickets, a stay at the French Lick, Holiday World tickets, three nights at Pinecraft near Sarasota, Florida, and various donations. A nice gift basket is already prepared.
Proceeds from the dinner and silent auction will help pay for the annual CEO Trade Show in the spring.
“We will have a trade show in the spring for businesses that are currently being created,” Robinson said.
The CEO program is now in its ninth year under the leadership of facilitator Joe Cummings.
Aimed at teaching students real-world experiences, the program offers stakeholders the opportunity to take risks, manage outcomes, and learn from outcomes.
“Being chief executive officer allowed me to see a lot of jobs I didn’t know existed in our county,” Robinson said. “I really enjoyed learning more about our county.”
Branson says being CEO has also helped connect students with other members of the community.
“As a CEO, you’ve made so many connections in the business world,” she said.
Tickets for the dinner are $35 each and are on sale until February 1st, and you can contact any of the following CEO students.
