If you’re thinking of ordering groceries online to get ready for a few days at home, so are your neighbors.
Grocery retailers are being slammed for ordering. The Walmart app on Monday afternoon shows the earliest available time is Wednesday.
Tom Thumb and Albertsons stopped accepting e-commerce orders for fulfillment on Tuesday.

Much of North Texas, including Dallas County, is on a winter storm warning through Wednesday, with a combination of snow, ice and sleet that could make conditions dangerous.
Mabrie Jackson, a spokesperson for HEB and the Central Market, said shoppers typically stock up before an ice storm hits, and stores are already crowded.
“Our curbside and delivery teams are working hard to serve our customers quickly and safely,” Jackson said.
An Instacart spokesperson said the company is concerned about the safety of individual shoppers and is “proactively monitoring winter storms.”
Amazon Fresh last week increased the minimum order value for free shipping from $35 to $150. Retailers are looking to improve the profitability of their grocery business, but the growth of online grocery shopping has slowed from the pace of the pandemic.
