Colts Nick Foles has been carted off after being sacked by Giants’ Kavon Thibodeau celebrating next to QB.

The Giants dominated the Colts in the first half of both teams’ Week 17 games, leading 24-3 going into halftime. But one of New York’s defining early plays sparked some controversy. After sacking quarterback Nick Foles and ending his Indianapolis drive in the final minute of the second quarter, Giants rookie Kavon Thibodeau said: Celebrate while lying on the ground Next to Foles, I pretended to make a Snow Angel while Foles writhed in pain from a rib injury.Some time later, after Foles was kicked out, Thibodeau I saw you celebrating againthis time imitating Phors and “falling asleep”.

Foles was initially ruled to have trouble coming back, but was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday’s game during halftime. A veteran, his QB (8-13, 81 yards, he had 1 INT before being ejected) made his second start for the Colts a week ago, replacing Matt his Ryan. Second-year backup Sam Ehringer took over at Indy’s Undercenter after making two starts in place of Ryan earlier this season.

Thibodeau, the No. 5 overall pick in this year’s draft, is a key member of the Giants’ defense, recording his third sack in five games thanks to Foles’ takedown. But Sunday’s double celebration of the sacks was an interesting choice, especially given how much attention the NFL pays to player safety, especially QB health in relation to potential head injuries.

Thibodeau’s arm made clear contact with Falls at least six times while lying on the ground pretending to make a snow angel. He will go unpunished for his actions during the game, securing playoff berth for the Giants as long as New York remains on top for the win.
